The Kardashians' Latest Statement About Lamar

by Melissah Yang

When it comes to family, the Kardashians and Jenners stand united. On Thursday, the Kardashian family posted a joint statement about Lamar Odom that said they would postpone activity on their newly launched paid apps in light of his tragic hospitalization. The statements were posted on their individual websites. (Eldest sister Kourtney Kardashian doesn't have an app.)

The Kardashian-Jenner sisters' apps launched earlier this month and offered fans an opportunity to get intimate glimpses into their individual day-to-day lives. On Tuesday, Kylie was in the middle of a live-stream and abruptly had to cut it short when news emerged of Odom's hospitalization. According to The Daily Mail, filming for Keeping Up With The Kardashians has also been suspended, which would go against rumors of the family documenting the ordeal for the E! show.

As a family, we've decided to hold off on publishing content across our apps while we continue to support and pray for Lamar. Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time.

On Tuesday, Odom was found unconscious at a legal brothel in Crystal, Nevada, and has reportedly remained in a medically induced coma since. According to CNN, the two-time NBA champion is fighting for his life. Officials have yet to confirm what caused Odom's hospitalization, but employees of the Love Ranch told authorities the player had done cocaine and taken herbal sexual enhancers in the days leading to the tragedy.

Before the joint statement, individual members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan posted loving notes via social media. On Twitter, Kourtney captioned a photo of Odom with her son Mason, "Believing in the power of prayer for this beautiful soul." Kylie shared an Instagram photo with Odom, saying, "Let's dance again together soon. Prayers up for Lamar please." In a rare showing, Rob Kardashian, who was particularly close with Odom, posted on Instagram, "Praying nonstop for my Brother !!" For Kendall, a simple "please don't go" was tweeted on Wednesday while Kris asked her followers to "please pray for Lamar #ourfighter."

Kim, Kourtney, Kylie, and mom Kris Jenner were seen leaving Sunrise Hospital Thursday, but Khloé has remained in Las Vegas, reportedly with Kendall, and has not left Odom's bedside. TMZ reports the Kardashians' plane is headed back to Los Angeles, where Kim has an important appointment with a pregnancy specialist.

Earlier this week, E! News reported that Khloé is still legally married to Odom despite filing divorce papers in July. A judge has reportedly yet to finalize the divorce, which would make Khloé, as his legal wife, in charge of Odom's medical decisions. Odom's two children from a previous relationship along with his father Joe Odom are also in Las Vegas.

Say what you want about the Kardashians, but there's nothing more important to them than family, and Lamar is family. It's great to see a sign of solidarity among the sisters during this difficult time.
