These Are The 10 Brands Teens Are Obsessed With

by Kali Borovic

Teens — they're an enigma! Or are they? According to a study done by a research firm called Piper Jaffray, Nike is the biggest brand among teens for 2015, and the other results are just as interesting. Apparently, the youths really love their sneakers! Who knew?

Piper Jaffray surveyed 9,400 teens and found that Nike is the most popular teen brand for clothing as well as footwear. In fact, the brand has landed the top spot each year since 2011. As Refinery 29 points out, with athleisure fashion becoming more popular all the time, it only makes sense that Nike is remaining successful with teens.

More and more companies are starting to get into the stylish sportswear business — Shay Mitchell's Fit to Wander clothing line and Kate Hudson's Fabletics are two recent examples — but sometimes you just can't beat an OG. Being comfortable and stylish is clearly important to teens. Whether or not this has anything to do with Kylie Jenner's Instagram account is up for debate (OK, it's totally Kylie's fault), but we know that Generation Z loves the sporty look.

Nike isn't the only brand that has kept its good standing on the list. Forever 21 and American Eagle round out the top three, and both are returning champions. Comfort clearly reigns across categories, as the top three shoe brands on the list are all mainly known for sneakers. This whole laid-back style revolution is clearly here to stay.

Take a look at the other brands that made the list this year to find out what all the cool kids are wearing.

Teens are clearly choosing opting for comfort and style all in one cool Nike package. Their feet will thank them later.

2. Forever 21

I'm not surprised at all that Forever 21 landed second on this particular list. Teens will always love their $1.80 tanks and under-$20 blazers.

3. American Eagle

This store is no newbie, and for good reason! It looks like those awesome un-retouched photoshoots have really paid off.

4. Ralph Lauren

I wasn't exactly expecting this super classic brand to be among teen favorites, but hey — they sure do grow up fast these days. It could have something to do with teen stars like Maddie Ziegler being spotted in RL designs.

5. Urban Outfitters

Apparently teens are saving their babysitting money to buy trendy crop tops and edgy accessories from Urban Outfitters.

6. PacSun

With It-girl duo Kendall and Kylie Jenner producing their own line for this store, it's no surprise to me that teens are making this a frequent stop on their mall trips.

7. Free People

Boho-chic is still taking over Instagram, so of course the well-known Coachella-worthy brand is in the top ten. I can't remember shopping this store when I was a teen because of how grown up the wares seemed, but that just shows how much times are changing.

8. H&M

This store has a variety of different styles all under one roof, which I'm willing to bet is why it's so popular. There is something for everyone and the prices are reasonable so teens can experiment with any trend they've been dying to try.

9. Vineyard Vines

Preppy is back with a vengeance!

10. Nordstrom

I truly have no idea how teens are scraping their allowances up for this store. I couldn't even afford Nordstrom Rack when I was a teen.

Teens are obviously more stylish than ever.
