by Maitri Suhas

There may be good news for the former NBA star: Entertainment Tonight reports that Lamar Odom has reportedly opened his eyes. Sources claimed that though the 35-year old Odom answered "yes" when asked if he wanted to see his children, "It’s unclear if he spoke or used body language to communicate."

Bustle has reached out to Odom's rep regarding this new report, but has not yet heard back. Previously, in respond to earlier reports about Odom's health, his rep released this statement to Us Weekly:

Family and friends are extremely concerned for Lamar. Please don't listen to the false information being circulated unofficially. Please respect the family's privacy during this difficult time.

Update: Us Weekly also reports that a source claimed that Odom opened his eyes on Friday.

Update 2: E! reports that Odom is speaking to Khloe Kardashian and out of his coma.

Earlier: The newest details appear to be good news. Earlier on Friday, reports claimed that Odom’s heart was responding, according to sources “close to the situation.” The Los Angeles Daily News also reported that Odom was “waking up briefly” on Thursday, though sources claimed to E! News that Odom may suffer from severe mental and physical impairment from what could be an alleged drug overdose. Additionally, TMZ reports that that responses like opening his eyes could be involuntary.

Odom was found unconscious three days ago at at Dennis Hof's Love Ranch South, a brothel, in Pahrump, Nevada, and hospitalized quickly after at Sunrise Hospital in Nevada, the Nye County Sheriffs confirmed in a press conference Wednesday. The former NBA player and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star remained in a coma until he showed signs of response on Thursday, according to the press conference. The Kardashian family released a statement on Wednesday asking that the public respect their privacy, and asked for prayers for Odom.

I can only hope that the 35-year old former NBA star shows further positive signs of recovery.
