Tom Hiddleston's Hank Williams Biopic Pushed Back

As someone who looks forward to every single thing Tom Hiddleston does with an almost painful anticipation, it devastates me to inform you that the release of Hiddleston's upcoming Hank Williams biopic I Saw The Light 's release date has been delayed, pushed back four whole months to Mar. 25, 2016. NOOOOOOO. I was trying to think of an intelligent response, but, in the interim, I think "NOOOOOOO" pretty much covers it, don't you? The film, which is based on the book Hank Williams: The Biography by Colin Escott, also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Cherry Jones, and Bradley Whitford, and was supposed to come out on Nov. 28, 2015. It was so close we could taste it. We even had photos of Hiddleston radiating Hank Williams vibes on set!

But now it's been snatched away from our eager eyes, and we aren't even being given a reason. Fortunately or unfortunately, I think I have an idea of why this is happening, because I've seen it before. Typically when a movie is pushed from late November, which is peak Oscar bait season, into the cinematic lull that is February or March, it's because, plain and simple, they want to put it out during a period of less competition. While that more or less ensures that tons of people will show up to watch Hiddleston sing in I Saw The Light, I don't appreciate the long wait that's separating me from Hiddleston singing in I Saw The Light. I'll say it again: NOOOOOOO.

Everybody cross your fingers that a) there are no more push backs, and b) the new release date ensures that this film ends up being a credit not only to Tom Hiddleston, but to Hank Williams, the country star it's supposed to honor.
