Kate Hudson's Embroidered Dress Was Everything

by Eliza Florendo

Kate Hudson is just one of those women that seems to never make a fashion mistake — and I bet she doesn't spill on her whites, either. She's always elegant, chic, and on-trend, especially at the God's Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards, where Kate Hudson wore an embroidered dress and basically confirmed that she's still the effortlessly gorgeous fashionista I've loved since childhood.

I'd say I officially fell in love when I saw her on the big screen as Andie Anderson in How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. I mean, she worked at a fashion magazine and basically played Ben like it was her job (which, actually, it was). Her LBD she wore while picking up Ben with her tiny little purse? I needed it. But no look got me quite like the yellow dress she wore when she sang You're So Vain, and the dramatic climax ensued. I actually ended up wearing basically a carbon copy of that beautiful yellow dress to prom (and to a few weddings, may I add).

And it seems, 12 years later, Hudson is still killin' it. At the God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards held in New York City, Hudson wore a cut out black and white Michael Kors Collection embroidered dress and paired it with yellow Louboutin heels. A combination that I wouldn't think would work, but of course, it does. The pumps are more of a mustard, darker yellow, and looks totally chic with the neutral ensemble.

Eternally obsessed. This dress basically epitomizes everything I love about her style: It's simple, it's understated, it's feminine, and it's above all, chic. I love the front cut out, putting a new spin on the deep v, with a gorgeous delicate collar. Ending right above the knee, this dress is the perfect balance of subtle and sexy.

In honor of Hudson's gorgeous dress, here are some embroidered dresses that are inspired by this killer look.
