Rachel McAdams Is "Dope" — EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

by Anna Klassen

"It was so important that it's real love. That it's genuine," says Southpaw director Antoine Fuqua of Rachel McAdams and Jake Gyllenhaal's relationship on set of the film. It is as much a love story as it is a boxing film. Those who have seen the gritty drama know that the relationship these two A-listers portray on screen is nothing short of compelling, and ultimately — tragic.

Southpaw centers around Billy "The Great" Hope (Gyllenhaal), world champion of Light Heavyweight Boxing. Hope has a great career, a caring and supportive wife (McAdams), a daughter, and plenty of money to let the family live a lavish lifestyle. But everything goes amuck when Gyllenhaal's world shatters after a tragedy that takes his family member. He hits rock bottom — his money is gone, is family is gone, and he has no where else to turn, except for a run-down local gym run by Tick Willis (Forest Whitaker). With Willis' help and guidance, Hope attempts to get back into the ring, entering the most difficult match of his life in the hopes of ultimate redemption.

Watch an exclusive behind the scenes clip, which focuses on Gyllenhaal and McAdams' relationship, below. The film will be released on DVD Oct. 27.
