Vin Diesel Says 'Last Witch Hunter 2' Is Coming

by Dino-Ray Ramos

Vin Diesel is, by far, the king of movie franchises. All of his series have big budgets with A-list casts, hyper real scenarios, outrageous dialogue, and plenty of action sequences — and clearly, it's worked out. The actor has built a career on fantastic franchises, and in fact, talks of a sequel for his latest movie, The Last Witch Hunter, were apparently being had before the film even hit theaters. "So the studio apparently is so excited by the Last Witch Hunter - The Axe and Cross franchise, that they are already commencing on the next one," Diesel wrote on his Facebook page in June. But how soon can this alleged second film be expected — in other words, when is the potential Last Witch Hunter 2 release date?

Fans shouldn't hold their breath for a sequel coming any time soon; my guess is that people probably won't see Diesel do any more witch hunting until 2018. With Furious 8 being released in 2017 and xXx: The Return of Xander Cage and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in the works, the actor has quite a busy schedule coming up, and it might be hard to fit in a second Witch film. Still, don't rule it out; as Diesel wrote on Facebook, "the first one doesn't hit theaters until October 23rd, yet they want me to commit and already block out time to film it." So a Witch sequel at some point in the next few years is definitely possible.

With Diesel playing Kaulder, an immortal man who has to fight a resurrected vengeful witch, the movie looks fantastical and checks all the boxes of the actor's signature movies. After seeing the film in theaters, I'm sure you'll be hankering for the sequel, so to keep you occupied until it eventually arrives, watch the below movies from Diesel's vast catalog. They should keep you satisfied till The Last Witch Hunter 2 hopefully arrives.

xXx (2002)

This secret agent franchise started over a decade ago, right when Diesel was hitting the scene. The movie is like James Bond meets the X-games. Diesel was replaced with Ice Cube for the sequel, xXx: State of the Union (doesn't hurt to watch that one, too). The two will reportedly meet in an upcoming third installment, for what could be an explosion of awesomeness.

Pitch Black (2000)

The sci-fi movie was the start of Diesel's adventures in space as Riddick, a prisoner in transit who gets stranded on a planet of alien creatures after damage is done to his ship. This was start of a wildly successful franchise that included The Chronicles of Riddick in 2004 and Riddick in 2013.

Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)

This is not necessarily a Diesel vehicle, but it is definitely worth mentioning because his character, Groot, was a fan favorite — even if he only said the same three words throughout the entire movie.

The Fast And The Furious (2001)

This is the franchise that made Diesel a household name. Started nearly 15 years ago, these movies have gone from small-time, street racing cinema to action-packed, money-making spectacles — and the actor has been in nearly all of them.

Breathe easy, everyone: there will never, ever be a shortage of Vin Diesel movies.
