Drake's "Hotline Bling" Just Got The Best Mashup

by Jennifer Still

As shocking and inexplicable as it may be, not everyone is a Drake fan. However, I've never met anyone that isn't seriously crazy for "Hotline Bling" and its accompanying video, which gives me hope for the world. It's an incredible song with an absolutely legendary (if not slightly amusingly awkward) video, so what's not to love? You see my point. And while it only came out a few days ago, the "Hotline Bling" video has already spawned dozens of hilarious memes, parodies, and mashups paying homage to its genius. I thought I'd seen it all...until now. IGN's Facebook page posted an amazing mashup of "Hotline Bling" with The Avengers, and it's basically the best thing you'll ever see.

The clip, which is only a little more than 30 seconds long, features Drake's "Hotline Bling" dance moves in place of Tom Hiddleston's Loki in a scene from The Avengers film, in which Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, the Hulk, Nick Fury, and Agent Hill watch him get down in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s see-through cage. The results are ridiculously funny, and the clip ends with the Hulk finally grabbing Drake and smashing him all over the floor in apparent disgust with the video. Harsh, but hilarious, you have to admit.

There are so many good parodies and mashups of "Hotline Bling" that it's hard to choose a favorite, but because I love The Avengers, and because of the ridiculous Drake cutout that the Hulk pulls out of the cage to bash all over the floor like a basketball is so messy, I think this one might just be my favorite (although the Spongebob Squarepants parody still holds it down, as well). Basically, Drake and this video in particular lend really well to comedy adaptations, and I feel like he totally had to know that when he made it.

This won't be the last "Hotline Bling" parody that comes out, and thank goodness for that. I could watch these forever and never get tired of them — they're the gift that keeps on giving. I just hope it never does stop and we never run out of them, because that will be an incredibly sad day that I'm not quite ready to face yet.

Oh, and if you wanted a reminder on what Drake's actual "Hotline Bling" video is like, there's never a bad time to re-watch it over on Apple Music.
