Fans React To Brooks Ayers' Cancer Claims

by Caitlyn Callegari

If you've been following the Real Housewives of Orange County drama, then you know there has been suspicion surrounding Brooks Ayers' cancer diagnosis. In fact, it even caused a rift between Ayers' now ex-girlfriend, RHOC veteran, Vicki Gunvalson, and the other women on the show. But speculation has now come to a head, and it's not looking good for either Brooks or Vicki when it comes to trustworthiness.

On part three of the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion, Vicki said of Brooks, "I was duped." When her claim that Heather Dubrow's husband treated Brooks for his cancer was challenged, Vicki explained, "You want to know the truth? I fabricated, because I really was looking for compassion from somebody in this group." At one point, Tamra Judge asked Vicki what her gut told her about Brooks' alleged cancer, and she responded, "My gut says he doesn't have it."

E! News spoke with Brooks himself and posed the question on all RHOC fans' minds: Why would Vicki tell the cast, including her daughter, that he was dying? Brooks responded, "I'm not responsible for what Vicki communicates to people. Again, I have the emails from Vicki clarifying that as well where she says she absolutely misspoke... She sensationalizes things from time to time.”

When asked in a previous interview by E! News whether he was "sticking by" the claim that he has cancer, he responded, "Absolutely. I’m still sticking by that."

RHOC fans certainly have a lot to say when it comes to Brooks' cancer claims and Vicki's statements during the reunion. Here are what fans are saying about the scandal.
