Woody Harrelson Wore PJs To 'Mockingjay' Premiere

by Marc Cuenco

There's comfortable fashion and then there's just plain lazy. While in Paris promoting The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2, Woody Harrelson wore pajamas and socks on the red carpet alongside his more appropriately dressed co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, and Josh Hutcherson. The cast and director Francis Lawrence attended a photocall event before the film's premiere, where Harrelson showed up in a gray shirt, flannel pajama bottoms, and matching socks.

I respect that Harrelson has been in this business much longer than Lawrence, Hemsworth, and Hutcherson, and has one of the most prolific acting careers in Hollywood, but there's simply no excuse for him to attend in the laziest of getups. I'm all for comfort when you're on the red carpet getting photographed for all the world to see, but literally attending in your pajamas devalues the time and effort that your peers put into promoting the film. Look, I'm a guy and I find this trend among male celebrities who dress way too casual at these events disrespectful, especially when women in the entertainment industry are constantly fighting for the media to "Ask Her More" on the red carpet.

If Harrelson would have rather stayed home (or Parisian hotel) in his PJs rather than attend the Mockingjay photocall, then he could have saved his cast mates and the rest of us this rather awkward photo op.

Perhaps Harrelson would have redeemed himself had he taken the same route as these six celebrities who nailed the pajamas trend better than him.
