Amber Heard Looks Stunning On 'Marie Claire' Cover

by Melodi Erdogan

She's certainly no stranger to being on the front of magazines, but Amber Heard's Marie Claire December cover is by far her most understated, simple, yet absolutely gorgeous covers to date. Heard, whose latest film The Danish Girl releases in theaters Nov. 27, wears only a structured pink blazer in the cover image, pairing the look with undone, wavy hair and a sultry smokey eye. Compared to many of her other vampy, alluring covers, this image is much more understated but equally beautiful.

Heard's breakout role was as Maria in Friday Night Lights, which lead to a string of other high-profile roles that earned her some serious star power. Most recently she starred in Magic Mike XXL and the upcoming thriller London Fields. There's no doubt that this Texas-native is well on her way to becoming an A-list star. Since she's got the brains and the beauty (and well, Johnny Depp for a husband), it's hard not to take notice of her. It only makes sense that Marie Claire tapped her as its latest cover girl.

This is unlike we have ever seen Heard on a magazine cover before. Instead of wearing ultra-sexy clothes and red lipstick, But enough of me — let's check out this cover, shall we?

How gorgeous does she look? There's no doubt that she herself is beyond beautiful, but it's the simplicity of the cover that really gives her that extra oomph. Heard is wearing a structured blazer with voluminous shoulders by Armani. No frilly dresses, no unnecessary accessories, just a blazer and her.

The beauty look is also amazing. Instead of doing up her hair or putting her in a red lip (even though the girl knows how to rock a red lip), the makeup artists kept it simple with a soft brown, smokey eye and natural pinky nude lipstick. They bronzed her up a bit, but honestly I wouldn't be surprised if that's all the makeup she had on.Clearly, Heard doesn't need any frou-frou to look stunning on a magazine cover. No over-the-top makeup or distracting clothes necessary — this girl and her talent are enough.

Let's look at how her latest Marie Claire cover compares with other covers she's done in the past.

1. Elle July 2015

Heard looks fabulous on this Elle cover from earlier this year. She's showing off some serious ink in that sleek swimsuit.

2. Women's Health December 2011

I love how happy Heard seems wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans. Plus her lob haircut looks great in voluminous waves.

3. Maxim August 2008

Talk about a sexy magazine cover! Heard appeared on the cover of Maxim back in 2008 after her role in the stoner comedy Pineapple Express.

4. Jalouse February 2015

Like I said, the girl knows how to rock a red lip! I love this deeper tone against her fair skin and black dress on this French magazine cover.

5. W Magazine May 2014

Heard looks unrecognizable with darker hair pulled back here on her W cover from last year.

6. Vanidades Argentina December 2011

Nothing to see here. Just Heard looking like your regular drop-dead-gorgeous bombshell.

7. Interview Germany June 2015

Of course Heard could even pull of a classic Air Force captain hat. But would you expect any less?

Nope, didn't think so.
