Amanda Might Not Be Charged For Bong Throwing

by Lia Beck

It would be wrong to say that Amanda Bynes is better now that she's been released from rehab, but she definitely seems to be on the right path and that in itself is honestly surprising. Last year in the middle of Bynes' downfall, it felt like the chaos would never end. If she wasn't tweeting something inappropriate about Drake, she was throwing a bong out of a window. Now that exact incident might be dismissed for good. It was reported today that Amanda Bynes' bong throwing charges will be dropped if she stays out of trouble and sees a counselor twice weekly for the next six months.

Amanda Bynes was arrested for the bong throwing in May when employees at her New York City apartment building called the police after seeing her smoking marijuana in the lobby. Bynes then went upstairs to her apartment where police found her reportedly throwing a bong out of her 36th-floor window. Bynes claimed the bong was a vase. She was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, marijuana possession, and tampering with evidence. With her new agreement, Bynes might not face any of those charges.

The actress completed rehab in early December and since then has announced plans to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Orange County, Calif. It appears that she's doing things right at this point. For one, she hasn't been updating her Twitter account which is great. It got her into trouble in the past and staying away from the public eye is good thing for her. Whether or not she can stay out of trouble in the real world is yet to be seen, but hopefully Bynes will keep surprising us.
