Kirsten Dunst Throws It Back To The '60s

by May Sofi

The old saying "history repeats itself" has never been more true than it is now — at least when it comes to fashion, that is. Kirsten Dunst wore a '60s-inspired dress to the Literary Awards Festival in Beverly Hills on Monday, demonstrating a fresh take on the ubiquitous party dress. The 33-year-old hit the ret carpet in a retro frock that looked as chic as ever.

Her pretty dress featured a bold chevron design in shades of olive green, navy, and orange — it almost looked like an antique piece of art. The high-neck collar and long sleeves were offset by the short hemline, which flaunted just a little bit of skin, adding some vampiness to the otherwise reserved ensemble. The actress' platinum blonde bob was styled super sleek with a deep side part. She topped off the look with a demure smoky eye and a bold orange lip that accented the colors in the dress.

Although inspired by a vintage style, the patterned piece felt totally fresh and new. We're used to seeing over-the-top party dresses this time of year, covered in tons of embellishments or draped in feathers and fringe. Dunst's simple yet stylish design came off as totally unique, and I'm loving it.
