One Direction Are Giving Fans Serious Nostalgia

by Maggie Malach

Following the release of Made in the A.M., it's hard not to look back at One Direction now and then. The band is prepping to go on their hiatus, but beforehand, they gave their fans an intimate look at their lives, courtesy of the One Direction London Session. You can watch part of it now — but be warned: You will feel all the feels.

James Corden got to hang out with the guys, hilariously speaking with them about photoshoots (yes, Louis Tomlinson did force a smile in one of the photos on display) and generally ribbing them about their pop star personas. Of course, he couldn't resist asking Harry Styles about "Perfect," the alleged Taylor Swift breakup song and the late night host even managed to drop not one, not two, but three well-placed puns in the conversation. (For the record, Styles stuck to his stock answer of refusing to say the song is about one specific person. It was worth a try, right?)

One of the most touching moments in the session was when the band watched themselves win their first honor, the 2012 BRIT Award for Best British Single for "What Makes You Beautiful." 1D look so young, but it's so sweet to see how excited and grateful they are. A sentiment, I might add, that hasn't changed over the years.

But perhaps the most touching moment in the clip is when Liam Payne discusses the behind the scenes of being in One Direction. He notes how strange it can be that millions of strangers know his name. There's a sadness to his voice as he discusses how the band is coming to terms with the fact that these will be their last performances for awhile. "I think it is about time we sat down and had a realization of how amazing life has been for us for the past five years," he says.

The video truly shows how far the band came the past five years. They've no doubt been through a lot, but they still care so much about their fans. This clip not only shows their talent, but the depth of hard work they put into their careers.
