A Couple Had Their Dog Film Their Wedding

by Lara Rutherford-Morrison

Anyone who has ever had a wedding knows that every aspect of these celebrations, from flowers to catering, are crazy (INSANELY) expensive. However, as this wedding video filmed by a dog demonstrates, you don’t need a fancy videographer to get a wedding video that’ll make people cry ridiculous happy tears. Just strap a GoPro to your pup and let her run around. Easy!

When Addie and Marshall Burnette got married at the top of Roan Mountain in Tennessee last November, they decided to have their Siberian Husky, Ryder, film the day. Marshall wrote on YouTube that the day “was cold and magical. Our dog, Ryder, insisted on filming the wedding video, so we let her do her thing. She took awhile to edit the footage, but we think she did a great job.” Addie told Refinery 29 of the wedding, “We actually eloped, so everything was last minute, including my wedding dress.” She added “The cool thing about it is that we eloped to the same mountain where we had our first date 10 years before, and it just so happened to snow two feet that day.”

The Burnette’s wedding video tracks the whole day from a dog’s perspective, showing Ryder’s view of the bride getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception afterward; there’s also a break in the middle for Ryder to frolic through the heavy snow. The whole thing is surprisingly emotional, and will have you clutching your pet to your chest and sobbing about unconditional love and how grateful you are for your dog even though she sometimes rolls in dead bugs and licks random wet spots onto the couch.... Or at least that’s what I did. Don’t judge me.

Addie thinks Ryder may have a future in the wedding industry, telling Refinery29, "We've had several comments that she did better than most hired wedding videographers."
