What's Next For 'RHOBH'?

by Kristie Rohwedder

Something monumental happened during Monday night's episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Something we viewers thought we'd never see. The Joyce Giraud and Brandi Glanville fight came to an end. The Joyce Giraud and Brandi Glanville & Joyce Giraud fight that had been going on for what felt like 47 episodes. The Joyce Giraud and Brandi Glanville fight that took up 99 percent of those 47 episodes. That fight is DONEZO. Praise everything.

Monday night's ep had my stomach in knots. Their initial attempt at resolving their issues quickly turned into more fighting. Things did not look good. But before I could reach my breaking point with the show, Glanville apologized to Giraud for her offensive behavior in Palm Springs. Finally. Giraud apologized to Glanville for calling her a racist. They're best friends now! Ha, kidding. But hey! Giraud hugged Glanville! Aw. …Aaand Glanville's body went rigid. Eesh. What did Glanville say about the hug in her confessional? "Ewwww, don't touch me." Baby steps, I guess.

I sincerely doubt Glanville and Giraud will wind up besties, but I do hope they manage to get along for the remainder of the season. For my sake. Their fighting has been so exhausting. There's only so much of "Brandi saying Brandi stuff" and "Joyce talking over everybody" I can take.

Also? It'll be a nice change of pace for the show to devote screen time to things other than Glanville and Giraud yelling at and about one another. Here are a few things I would be thrilled to see on RHOBH:

More Carlton Gebbia Screen Time

As the season continues, my love for Carlton Gebbia only grows. She is funny, weird, and smart. The wonderful witch has a permanent place in my heart. Too much Gebbia? NO SUCH THING.

A Chance to Get to Know Joyce Giraud

I have to admit something: I am not the biggest Joyce Giraud fan. Yes, I think what Glanville said to her was wrong and Giraud had every right to be upset/stand up for herself. But Giraud fought the Glanville fire with more fire. And then, she brought her husband in for backup. Her husband's response: "Oh, a giant fire? Let me throw some fire on that." The entire thing was an unproductive mess. No one came out of the fire, er, fight looking particularly great.

But now that the fight seems to be resolved, we may have a chance to see more from Giraud. A chance to get to know her better. A chance to become a Joyce Giraud fan.

A RHOBH Song

"Tardy For the Party." "Money Can't Buy You Class." "On Display." "Real Close." "Nothing Without You." What do all of these songs have in common? They were made by non-Beverly Hills Housewives. It's time a Beverly Hills Housewife gave us a single.

Kim and Lisa Throw a Party for Their Dogs

Yes, this idea was inspired by a recent episode of Shahs of Sunset. But you have to admit it: Lilly Ghalichi's dog party was amazing. Lisa Vanderpump and Kim Richards aren't exactly BFFs, but they love parties and they love their dogs. Put 'em together, and what have you got? Bippity, boppity, dog party! I am always happy to watch reality stars throw fiestas for pets, and I know I'd be able to count on Vanderpump and Richards to go above and beyond. It'd be so extravagant and perfect. AND it could help mend their relationship. AND! There'd be dogs. DOGS! Assuming Kingsley could handle it, a RHOBH dog party could be just the thing the show needs.

Come on, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Don't let me down. DOG PARTY.
