This Device Will Send Your Couple Your Heartbeat

Anyone who has ever been in a long-distance relationship knows that far-away couples will do whatever it takes to feel closer to their partner, despite the many miles between them. Nothing beats the intimacy and love that comes wtih physical closeness, though — which is why a company called Little Riot is launching Pillow Talk, a device that will let you feel your partner's heartbeat no matter how many miles away they are. Yes, you read that correctly. When you and your partner go to bed, just put on your matching wearables with heart sensors and slide the square speaker under your pillow — and you will literally hear and feel your partners heart beating without them actually being near you. Isn't technology a wonderful thing?

According to Pillow Talk's Kickstarter page, you don't even need to be in an LDR to appreciate the wearable and speaker set. Mothers who want to monitor their babies from another room, for example, can also use the device for a sense of security. You can pre-order Pillow Talk from their Kickstarter page until Dec. 8, so check it out if you're intrigued by the idea.

Like the idea of connecting with your long-distance partner but not quite sold on Pillow Talk? Check out these other tools that will help your long-distance relationship not feel so, well, long distance.

1. Couple Apps Like Between, Avocado, or Cupple

Couple apps are awesome because they give you your own private digital space to share photos, anniversaries, and even draw each other pictures or play games. The apps are great if one of your partners is abroad because the apps are accessible with just WiFi, no phone plan needed.

2. Kissenger

This smachine developed by Lovotics, which kind of looks like a pig, transmits your lip movements via secret, mysterious airwaves to another Kissenger pig, which presumably someone else is kissing.

3. Light-Up Pillows

Apparently the wearables aren't the only LDR device Little Riot has created. The company also launched pillows that light up when your partner sleeps on them. It's almost like having your partner right there! Or, at least, a light that might keep you up all night.

4. SMS and Email Pen

If you want to feel like you're writing your lover a letter, but don't want to go through the hassle of sending it and waiting for your partner to receive it, you can do so with D:Scribe, a digital fountain pen from Yanko Design that saves and sends what you write via email or text message. We're on our computers all the time, but that doesn't mean you can't still handwrite a love letter.

5. Chromecast Instant Messenger

OK, this one's pretty cool. If you and your bae both have Chromecast, you can put on your favorite movie or TV show and instant message one other while it's playing to share reactions right on the screen. So much easier than trying to press "play" on your computer at the same time and then texting.
