San Bernardino Shooting Victims Identified

Update: On Thursday, the names of all the San Bernardino shooting victims were released. They are Shannon Johnson, Bennetta Bet-Badal, Aurora Godoy, Isaac Amanios, Larry "Daniel" Kaufman, Harry Bowman, Yvette Velasco, Sierra Clayborn, Robert Adams, Nicholas Thalasinos, Tin Nguyen, Juan Espinoza, Damian Meins, and Michael Wetzel.

Earlier: On Wednesday, Dec. 2, a shooting at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California, left 14 people dead and 21 wounded. Hours after the attack, police pursued information that led to a chase of a dark SUV, which was later determined to be a rental car. A shootout between police and the suspects left both suspects dead. The suspects were identified as Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik, who were husband and wife.

According to SBPD Chief Jarrod Burguan, the four guns used in the shooting were purchased legally. The suspects were found to have 1,600 rounds of ammunition with them, and at a home the suspects were renting in Redlands, California, law enforcement officers found 4,500 rounds of ammunition and 12 pipe bombs. No official motive has been confirmed, though a source told The Los Angeles Times that investigators are considering a combined motive of “terrorism and workplace.”

On Wednesday afternoon, a shooting in San Bernardino, Calif. resulted in 14 deaths and an additional 17 injuries. According to the Los Angeles Times, the situation is active; said Sgt. Vicki Cervantes speaking for the San Bernardino Police Department, "It's a very active scene. It's very fluid." The identities of the San Bernardino shooting victims are not yet known, and the situation is still developing.

Initial reports were conflicting, but according to outlets such as the Los Angeles Times and Reuters, up to 20 people were being treated for injuries. Al Jazeera, ABC 7 Eyewitness News, Fox 11 also originally reported that up to 12 people were believed to have been killed, while Reuters placed the number at at least three. However, in a press conference held Wednesday afternoon, SPBD Chief Jarrod Burguan said that there are "upwards of 14 people that are dead, [and] upwards of 14 people that are injured." At a later press conference also on Wednesday afternoon, Sgt. Vicki Cervantes said that the number of injuries had risen to 17. The Sheriff's Department also cautioned that all information is preliminary and may change during the investigation.

Briana Pastorino, a spokeswoman for the nearby Loma Linda Medical Center, told Reuters that the hospital is preparing for the arrival of victims. "We're all kind of on standby right now," she said. "It could be any minute."

According to ABC 7 Eyewitness News, the shooting occurred near the Inland Regional Center on the 1300 block of S. Waterman Avenue; a "hard closure" is in effect at Orange Show Road/Waterman Avenue and Park Center Circle, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department.

The San Bernardino Sheriff's Department tweeted that the SBPD have confirmed one to three suspects.
