Scott Weiland Brought These Songs To Life

As someone who grew up in the '90s, I was sad to hear about the death of former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland. Early Friday morning it was announced via his official social media accounts that the talented 48-year-old singer died in his sleep while on tour with his band The Wildabouts. There's no doubt Weiland will be missed and will forever be considered as someone who contributed to the music industry in huge ways. With that said, it's time to honor Weiland and some of his most memorable songs.

Even though I might have been a bit too young to be jamming to STP back in the 1990s. I mean, when "Plush" was released I was only six years old. However, whenever I hear the song it brings me back to those simpler times and the age of music I grew up with. Despite not being a huge fan or follower of Weiland's career, he definitely made an impact and clearly did something right with his songs, especially if even as just a young child I remember his music.

From Stone Temple Pilots to Velvet Revolver to his solo career, and his most recent band The Wildabouts, Weiland's lifetime of songs will always be remembered. Here are just a few of his many hits as an artist that I'm sure hit close to home for many.

Stone Temple Pilots

1. "Plush"

A classic that will forever be a favorite.

2. "Creep"

3. "Big Empty"

4. "Vasoline"

5. "Interstate Love Song"

This and "Plush" are a tie for my favorites.

6. "Between The Lines"

Velvet Revolver

7. "Slither"

After STP, Weiland fronted Velvet Revolver with Dave Kushner and former Guns N'Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum. "Slither" earned the band a Grammy.

8. "Fall to Pieces"

Like "Slither," this was another huge success for Velvet Revolver.

Scott Weiland Solo And The Wildabouts

"Modzilla"

Weiland's more recent solo work and his band The Wildabouts might not be as well-known as his other two groups, but here's a taste of what he was up to before he died. Clearly, his talent was still there.

"Breathe"

"Lady Your Roof Brings Me Down"

Thank you, Scott, for making music that much more enjoyable.
