Celebrate The Holidays With This 'Star Wars' Duet

by Maura O'Malley

The holiday season is upon us. Shopping malls are cluttered with throngs of holiday shoppers. Jack Frost is nipping at your nose. December is all about family, generosity, and Mariah Carey music. What makes this year special is instead of counting down the days till Christmas, I have the release date of Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens highlighted, circled, and memorialized on my calendar. Because let's all be honest here, the greatest gift this holiday season is the release of Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens . And co-stars Daisy Ridley and Oscar Isaac have sweetened the Christmas season even further with a surprise Star Wars holiday duet.

It is like the forces of the universe have banded together to make the new Star Wars as irresistible as possible. Issac, who plays Poe, the badass x-winger pilot that is self-described, according to Empire Online, as "the best frickin' pilot in the galaxy," is an amazing singer. He sang and acted in the critically acclaimed Inside Llewyn Davis and performs in an indie-folk duo called Nightlab. Don't believe me on how great he is? Google "The Measure of Things" by Nightlab and have your heart melt at the awesomeness that is Isaac.

Ridley, surprisingly, also has a strong musical background. Before she was Rey, a desert-scavenger (and possibly Princess Leia and Han Solo's love child), she received formal training in jazz. Like, her rendition of "Moon River" will give your butterflies — the same kind of butterflies you get when you see Princess Lelia and Han Solo on screen together (wink, wink).

Isaac and Ridley were participating in a Rwitter Q&A when this tweet came through the Interwebz:

And the pair happily obliged.Check out Ridley and Issac's holiday duet below:

Is it too soon to start shipping Rey and Poe? Clearly these two have some insane chemistry. They take one of the most ambiguously creepy Christmas songs and make is sexy once again. I now finally feel like it is the holiday season. And this is such a better holiday treat than Star Wars Holiday Special!

Cheers to Star Wars making spirits bright this holiday season!
