8 'PLL' Stars Who Got Their Start On Nickelodeon

Ever since the character of Paige McCullers first appeared on Pretty Little Liars, I immediately recognized her. That's because actress Lindsey Shaw got her start on Nickelodeon's Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. Shaw played Moze, one of Ned's BFFs, and the role was so memorable that I'll forever associate her with that show. (Side note: If the main characters on PLL were given Ned's survival guide, maybe they'd be able to solve the whole A mystery once and for all.) While Shaw's Nickelodeon background is no secret, MTV News recently pointed out another connection between the two shows. Spencer Hasting's dad, Nolan North, also appeared on Ned's Declassified. Mind-blowing, huh? Honestly, I'm more surprised by this than the Big A reveal.

In case you're in disbelief, a quick check of Nolan North's IMDB page confirms the news. Plus, Tumblr and Twitter users have shared side-by-side images of the two characters and it's undeniably the same person. However, it's worth noting that on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, North's character was far less uptight than his role on Pretty Little Liars. As the school's art teacher, he was easy-going and creative. This is quite a contrast from Spencer's intense and demanding dad.

As if that’s not enough for any PLL fan to handle, there’s one more Ned's Declassified connection! Lucy Hale, aka Aria Montgomery, appeared on the show in the "Upperclassmen & Gross Biology Dissection" episode. This means she and Shaw were doing scenes together way before PLL.

For nostalgia's sake, let's take a look back at all of the Pretty Little Liars stars who appeared on your favorite Nickelodeon shows. Because really, Rosewood is more connected than you think.

1. Lindsey Shaw On Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide

As mentioned above, Lindsey Shaw played Moze. She was the bossy, awesome best friend that Ned definitely needed.

2. Nolan North On Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide

Nope, I'm still not over this one. It's quite possibly the most unexpected cameo of all time.

3. Lucy Hale On Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide & Drake & Josh

Here's Hale and Shaw, doing a scene together in the halls on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. It's seriously such a small world!

And guess what? Lucy Hale was in more than just Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. She also appeared in Drake & Josh, where she went on a date with Drake.

4. Tyler Blackburn On Unfabulous

On two episodes of Unfabulous (aka that fabulous show with Emma Roberts), Blackburn played a character named Nathan. Caleb should totally start wearing tuxedos on PLL.

5. Torrey DeVitto On Drake & Josh

Spencer's big sister Melissa also appeared on a Nick show. Torrey DeVitto played Tori, Drake's love interest in multiple episodes of Drake & Josh.

6. Keegan Allen On Big Time Rush

Unfortunately, I didn't really watch Big Time Rush. It premiered after I stopped watching the channel. Still, it's awesome that the actor who plays Toby on PLL appeared on this show. Yup, Keegan Allen played a male model on Big Time Rush in 2010.

7. Janel Parrish On Zoey 101

In 2006, Janel Parrish appeared in "The Silver Hammer Society" episode of Zoey 101. Back then, her role was far more innocent than the manipulative Mona that Pretty Little Liars fans know and love.

8. Ashley Benson On Zoey 101

Looks like Parrish isn't the only one to hang out with Jamie Lynn Spears! Ashley Benson appeared on an episode of Zoey 101 , too. Based on the image above, her character had just as much attitude as Hanna Marin.

Wow, all of this makes me incredibly nostalgic! There must be some secret crossover universe where characters from Nickelodeon shows move over to Rosewood.
