Drake Is Apple's Best Artist Of The Year

All right, so I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is, Drake was named Apple's Best Artist of 2015, which is super exciting for him. The bad news is that it apparently wasn't so exciting that it caused him to spontaneously drop his much-awaited album Views From The 6 right there on the spot. Harrumph. Not like we've been waiting for that since July 2014 when Drake first announced the name or anything. But, anyway, hopefully this kind of honor will encourage Drake to get his act together and actually put the album out already, because Apple naming him their Best Artist really seems like more of a good faith gesture.

Sure, Drake put out his video for "Hotline Bling" on Apple Music instead of going the more traditional Vevo or YouTube route, so he's in Apple's good graces, but he didn't quite take the title of most-downloaded artist of the year. They're sticking their neck out a little bit naming him the best one. Drake was beaten out for in that particular category by Adele, of course, whose album 25 smashed records across the board and pushed Drake's If You're Reading This It's Too Late into second place. And, on top of that, Drake didn't even get a song in the Top 10 most-downloaded of the year, losing to everyone from Maroon 5, to Ed Sheeran, to Ellie Goulding.

But I'm not saying Drake should be bummed out by that, even though I know he cares what I think. I'm saying he should take this as incentive to drop Views From The 6 on the very first day of 2016, so he gets the entire year to rack up purchases, and, next year, he can walking away with both of the top slots instead of a measly just one.

Sound good? Great. Make it happen, Drake! I believe in you! (And, also, I've been on the edge of my seat about this album for so long that my butt is starting to go to sleep, so get a move on!)
