Emily Ann Will Be The Next Big Thing

by Jessica Molinari

And that's a wrap! Tonight's performance portion of The Voice Season 9 Live Finale ended on a strong note with Emily Ann Roberts' emotional rendition of Cam's "Burning House." Seriously, this was her strongest performance yet and it couldn't have come at a better time. Roberts left her heart on the stage in her final performance, and it could just be what helps her win The Voice title.

Roberts has had a strong trajectory in this competition. She came into the Blind Auditions as the adorable 16-year-old aspiring country singer with big dreams of becoming a star and is leaving as a stronger performer, the only female finalist, and the next big thing to hit the country music scene. Roberts has grown so much throughout her time on this show — not only as a performer, but as a person, too. In just a few short weeks, America has watched Roberts grow into the strong, confident artist who sang her heart out in tonight's The Voice Finale. When she first walked out onto the stage in the Blind Auditions, I never would have picked her to be one of the Final Four. But now, there's a very big chance that Roberts could become the next The Voice champion.

As a huge country fan, Roberts has definitely earned my support. I'll admit, I had my doubts at the beginning. But over the past weeks she's proven herself to be a dynamic, versatile artist who's ready to take on a bigger stage. Her coach, Blake Shelton, was right when he said Roberts is on the road to becoming the next Taylor Swift or Carrie Underwood. She's got talent and star power. Whether Roberts takes The Voice title or not, she's going to go on to do amazing things, and I can't wait to watch.
