The 11 Best Hair Moments In 2015

In case you missed it (how could you?), 2015 was definitely a year filled with dramatic hair changes. It seemed like every day there was a new story about how some celebrity changed his or her hair (albeit, 75 percent of those stories might have been about Kylie Jenner), followed by what the general public thought about said celebrity's choice to alter his or her hair. For this reason, I'm rounding up the 11 most important hair moments of 2015. Let's reminisce together, shall we?

From blue hair to pink tresses, it seemed like unnatural colors were the norm in Hollywood, so much so, it was like having naturally colored hair was a faux pas. However, 2015 wasn't just about changing hair colors — celebs also played with wigs, extensions, and "magic" to trick us all into thinking they made a drastic change to their hair (I'm looking at you, Gigi Hadid). But a lot of celebrities actually cut their hair for real, because they don't have a fear of commitment.

And it wasn't just girls who had fun with their hair this year. Men got in on the action, too. Remember that one time Justin Bieber bleached his hair? Of course you do. Here are the 11 most important hair moments of 2015, in no particular order ( and please keep in mind that "important" is completely subjective).

1. When Lily Collins Got A Pixie

In February 2015, Lily Collins chopped off her long hair in favor of a short pixie, and looked absolutely adorable, because let's face it, she always looks adorable. It's slowly growing out now, but I think Collins will probably keep her hair on the shorter side for a while.

2. When Jared Leto Chopped Off His Man Bun & Dyed His Hair Platinum Blonde

When Jared Leto arrived at the 2014 Oscars, everyone marveled at this long locks with a perfect natural ombre. Then, when he put it in a man bun, the world cried tears of joy. In March 2015, Leto cut his hair short and #RIPJaredLetosHair started trending almost immediately. Since he chopped off his hair, he has since dyed it platinum blonde. Now, it's currently pink. Gotta love Leto.

3. When Kim Kardashian Went Platinum

Kim K. almost broke the internet when she debuted platinum locks at Paris Fashion week earlier this year. I actually really liked her light blonde hair, even though she has since returned to her signature dark hair. She did announce earlier, however, that this was her favorite hair ever, so perhaps a comeback is in order.

4. When Hilary Duff Had Mermaid Hair

Following her divorce from Mike Comrie, Duff dyed her hair a few different colors, including pink and a silvery blue, but her greenish mermaid locks definitely take the cake for best hair transformation.

5. When Justin Bieber Got His Floppy Haircut

I still don't really understand it, but you have to admit that when Bieber debuted the flop at the 2015 VMAs, the world noticed, making is one of the most important hair moments of 2015.

6. When Gigi Hadid Tricked Us All Into Thinking She Had A Bob

Gigi Hadid might have actually broken the internet when she arrived at the American Music Awards with a bob. Fans quickly tried to determine whether the model actually cut her hair, but Hadid revealed that it was just some clever hair styling tricks. PLEASE TELL US HOW YOU DID THIS, GIGI.

7. When Ginnifer Goodwin Dyed Her Hair Silver

The granny hair trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon. At Comic Con 2015, Ginnifer Goodwin rocked a silver gray pixie, basically doing the exact opposite of every female celeb ever, and it looked amazing.

8. When Kendall Jenner Tried Out Bangs

I think Kendall Jenner could totally rock bangs, but I know there's no way her modeling agent will ever let her get them. Luckily, she has endless resources and can try out fake bangs whenever she wants, like when she wore this topknot to the American Music Awards.

9. When Gwen Stefani Dip-Dyed Her Hair

Gwen Stefani dip dyed her hair blue and black right in between announcing her divorce from Gavin Rossdale and appearing cuddly in public with her The Voice co-star Blake Shelton. It's not my favorite look, but Stefani definitely has a style all her own.

10. When Jennifer Lawrence Went Platinum

In September 2015, Jennifer Lawrence dyed her hair platinum blonde and the world went crazy. I didn't even know it was possible for Lawrence to look better than she already did, but her platinum hair proved me wrong.

11. When Kylie Jenner Did Anything

Kylie Jenner made approximately 46,204 changes to her hair this year (I might be exaggerating a tad), from blue hair, to green hair, to pink hair, to extra long black hair. Still, I think the most important change was when she finally revealed blonde hair in September 2015. I'm not totally convinced it wasn't a wig, considering she's changed her hair color almost every day since, but in the caption of her Instagram pic, she alluded to it being her real hair, saying "Took months of not dying my hair and wearing wigs to get my hair back to health so I can do this!!" But then a few days later she was back to black. I can't keep up anymore. Here's hoping she can stick to something for longer than a day in 2016.
