This 'Sisters' & 'Broad City' Mash-Up Is Gold

by Emily Lackey

Whoever said that women don’t work well together has probably never seen real women actually work together. Because the hilarious women of Broad City, Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, called on the funniest women in Hollywood, aka Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, to make a cross-promotional clip for Broad City and Sisters, and the result is pretty much the best thing you'll see all day.

If you've ever wondered what would happen if Fey and Poehler joined Jacobson and Glazer for a clip, then you're in luck: Turns out, the result is a hilarious mash-up of the four women's amazing intelligence and sense of humor. In the video, the women of Broad City play delinquent sisters whose luck has run out. As punishment — or maybe as a saving grace? — two good sisters appear to put them back on the right path.

Enter Fey and Poehler dressed as nuns.

And as if their cameos weren’t good enough on their own (seriously, the two of them dressed like that is enough to delight me for weeks to come), the Sisters co-stars go on to show the two other women how to use rosary, take away their pot, and pray for their immortal souls. They even manage to get in a joke about women in media.

In the end, the sisters of Broad City are transformed by the curative powers of the Poehler and Fey, while the sisters of Sisters make off with the pot.

The spot is hilarious, charming, and combines the amazing comedy talents of these four amazing women — also, and perhaps most importantly, it proves that good things come from smart women working together.

Here’s hoping Hollywood sees this as an example of the smart and incredible work that can come from female collaboration in film.
