Tom Ford & Drake Are Pals

by May Sofi

When legendary fashion and beauty mogul, Tom Ford, announced the launch of his Drake-inspired lipstick, I was both insanely excited and extremely confused. Sure, the thought of wearing a piece of my favorite rapper on my lips made me feel all giddy inside, but what was exactly in it for Mr. Ford? Apparently, wild success and a ton of buzz, because the highly covetable lipstick sold out just minutes after being released. Still, I couldn't help but wonder what inspired Drizzy as the designer's latest muse. Are Tom Ford and Drake even friends? It sort of seems that way. Let's take a look at the evidence.

First off, the Drake lipstick is part of Tom Ford's Lips & Boys collection, which is reportedly influenced by significant men in the designer's life. Clearly then, some sort of relationship exists between the two. Additionally, Champagne Papi has proven to be quite the fan of Ford's designs. He sported a three-piece suit and matching accessories from the brand in his 2012 GQ feature, and has worn the designer many times on the red carpet.

The hip-hop superstar even named a song after the designer's men's fragrance, Tuscan Leather, E! reports — that has got to mean the two are tight. The rapper even calls out Ford directly in the song, "Yeah, Tom Ford Tuscan Leather smellin' like a brick." A name-drop like that is definitely a clue about their imminent friendship, right? I think so.

If you're looking to score a Drake lippie, you're out of luck because Drake's mom (supposedly) bought them all.

LOL.

The lipstick is reportedly set to be restocked, though, so Drake fans can breath a sigh of relief.
