Diversity Rules In Givenchy Spring 2016 Campaign

Is the tide turning? A recent report indicated that there was a serious lack of diversity on fashion magazine covers in 2015. Well, things might be changing, as Givenchy's Spring 2016 campaign spotlights diversity, thanks to creative director Riccardo Tisci's gang of muses, a term that he hashtagged. The models represent all walks of life and a variety of looks. It's a really refreshing set of images, as the array of exotic male and female models are draped in gray and white.

The campaign also hashtagged the images with #LOVE and #FAMILY. It seems simple, but the concept is so much deeper than a surface meaning.

Tisci told Women's Wear Daily, "Everyone can do something very small, some gesture of love. I’m not saying this will change the world, but the world will be better. I’m a big believer in positive energy, and I’m sure this energy will spread. People have given me so much love and so much respect and this has helped me to grow."

Let's have a look at the gang of muses who inspired Kim Kardashian's ever-positive, designer BFF. The shredded, lingerie-like, and all-white ensembles have a sexy and bedroom-y feel that reminds us spring will be here in no time.

And you can't help but adore Tisci's super positive energy regarding these pics.

What a bunch of fresh-faced beauties and lacy ladies.

Long hair, short hair, light hair, dark hair! So many looks and styles are represented in these shots. It's quite inspiring.

Tisci was going for variety and that's what he achieved. He also didn't opt to use super familiar faces like those of Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, and Cara Delevingne, instead utilizing stunning up and comers.

This is poem that was specifically written for the campaign. That makes the S/S 2016 Givenchy campaign multimedia in an unusual, non-standard way.

Even more diversity! From the clean lines and pinstripes of the gray suits to the tattoos to the different ethnicities, Givenchy is really making quite the noble effort to pull diversity into fashion, at least in ad campaigns.

Let's hope this is the start of a new trend that will dominate the fashion scene in 2016.
