NBC Is Bringing Back One Of Your Favorite Shows

by Emma Goddard

Break out those bottles of bubbly and some waffles, because Parks and Recreation has been renewed for a seventh season. Not only can we continue the celebration for Amy Poehler’s first-ever Golden Globes win, but we can also give a toast to NBC for making this decision to begin with. The network’s chairman, Robert Greenblatt, announced that “Parks and Rec is going to have a seventh season,” on Sunday morning at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. Not to mention, this is after the fact that he admitted how he was "bullish" as to whether or not the show would return initially, according to Deadline.

This news comes around the same time that Poehler and NBC made a formal agreement to give the actress a three-year deal to executive produce a comedy starring Natasha Lyonne of Orange Is the New Black. Old Soul, will revolve around the life of a “young woman who’s trying to find herself, but in the meantime she’s working as the aide to a group of opinionated elderly people,” according to Deadline. Poehler wins a Golden Globe and suddenly she’s on fire… it’s fantastic. I personally can’t wait to view her new show and people everywhere are weighing in with their excitement for the return of Parks and Rec.
