Khloe Finally Gets Real

by Ivy Jacobson

The ninth season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians (yes, you read that right) aired on Jan. 19, and while Kris Jenner's announcement that she and Bruce Jenner are separating was totally riveting, Khloe Kardashian's feelings about her now ex-husband Lamar Odom overshadowed her momager's storyline.

Even though the episode opened with Khlo saying she's into "new vibes" and gets a sexy, new blonde 'do, she later tearfully breaks the silence on her crumbling marriage to Odom.

I’ve been in hiding because I’m afraid of people. I’ve been putting myself aside to hopefully save somebody else’s life. And now that I’ve come to terms that I can’t, I have to move on with my life and that means changing a lot.

Her situation is genuinely sad, since she and Lamar had been married for four years before she officially filed for divorce on Dec. 13 amid his drug addiction and infidelity reports. She tearfully told Kourtney Kardashian that her marriage situation made her feel broken.

I shouldn't care what people think, but I don't like that now I am affiliated. I haven't even had a week off. I need to get my life in order, but I love to work because it distracts me. But I go home and I'm a shattered person.

She also spoke to the camera to say that she doesn't feel comfortable speaking about Odom's issues.

My priority is Lamar's health and well-being and I don't feel it is my place to address a lot of things, as it is not. It is part of my job to protect him and keep him as safe as possible and keeping him safe is by me keeping quiet.

Khloe admitted that Lamar also bought pre-paid cellphones and threw them away to get replacements after a short period. Clearly, she was close to the last final straw in the episode, and tweeted her feelings during the premiere.

But she also showed that she will prevail with her humor when she adamantly stood by her fashion choices.
