Halle Berry's TV Show Promo Is Frustratingly Vague

I get that this teaser is supposed to be all vague and make me want to see more of the series, but in all seriousness, I just don't get it. If I wanted to know the definition of the word "extant," I'd probably Google it, or, at the very least, I'd pick up a dictionary. I certainly wouldn't watch a new teaser for a CBS show called Extant — but for some reason, CBS thinks I would, because that is pretty much a perfect description of the teaser they've just released for this show.

Despite this misstep, though, Extant is worth paying attention to — if only for the fact that it will star Halle Berry, the latest film star to make the big transition to television (after Kevin Spacey in House of Cards, William H. Macy in Shameless, Lucy Liu in Elementary, and Don Cheadle in House of Lies, to name a few). As previously reported, the show will center on Berry's character, a female astronaut, who returns from a mission in space, "only to watch her work above Earth change the lives of everyone in the world." So, like a continuation of Gravity? Kind of?

Anyway, you can check out the promo below. Since the show's on CBS, it's probably gonna be a hit, so it's probably best to get acquainted with it now.

Extant will premiere on CBS this summer.
