The Cutest Thing To Happen This Weekend

by Jenny Hollander

Michelle Obama's big 50th bash on Saturday was a cell-phone-free event, and so most of what went down exists only in our minds. We know that the President made an emotional speech thanking Michelle for being his best friend; we know that Beyoncé sang, and that Page Six called it the "party of the year." And thanks to Beyoncé's Tumblr, apparently exempt from the "no photos" rule, we know that Sunny Obama met Blue Ivy.

On Sunday, Beyoncé shared photos of the First Family's second dog, Sunny, meeting her two-year-old daughter. And sure, there were a lot of other important figures at the 500-people strong event, not to mention a jumpsuit worn by the First Lady that we're dying to see.

The bash had a crowd of over 500 celebrities, politicians, and other A-listers that celebrated the divine Mrs. O, who started the party off wearing an elegant, red jumpsuit.

Paul McCartney, Beyonce, James Taylor, Jennifer Hudson, Nancy Pelosi, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Janelle Monae, Sheryl Sandberg, Mary J. Blige, Angela Bassett, Samuel L. Jackson, Grant Hill, Alonzo Mourning, Emmett Smith, Al Roker, Steve Harvey, Magic Johnson, Billie Jean King and Michael Jordan were some of the guests at the bash.

Unfortunately, we can't see any of that magic happening, since photos of the party are on lockdown for now. But we can see this!

It's not the world's best photo, but we like to imagine a rule-breaking Beyoncé sneaking out her iPhone to capture the moment. After introductions were made, the two seemed to get along swimmingly.

From introductions to cuddles within minutes! Since Sunny is just one and a half, and Blue is two, we're sure they had a lot to talk about. Beyoncé posed with Sunny too, but the dog looked decidedly less interested in Queen B.

And you better believe that Sunny Obama has a mind of her own. At Christmas, a misbehaving Sunny interrupted the White House holiday celebrations to knock over a little girl in an excited doggy rampage. Which led to this photo of Michelle Obama yelling at the dog to not knock over White House guests.

What wouldn't we give to be a fly on the wall in that house...
