Taylor Swift Surprises One Of Her Biggest Fans

It looks like Swiftmas has descended upon fans a week early. Thanks to a trending hashtag, a young cancer patient got to live out her "Wildest Dreams" — meeting Taylor Swift. According to E! News, on Saturday, the singer stopped in Colorado to visit the home of 13-year-old fan Delaney Clements, who suffers from neuroblastoma and is soon entering hospice care. Swift coordinated the visit after the hashtag #DelaneyMeetTaylor went viral and the singer got word of the teen's situation.

As you might expect, Clements was thrilled to meet her idol. "Literally speechless right now!!!!!" the teen captioned an Instagram shot of her and Swift. "My new best friend ( as I call her now ) made a special stop from going home to Tennessee and surprised me and gave me the best present/ hugg ever!! Thank you !! I love you!! Happy holidays!!" Even more, Clements' Instagram bio now reads: "|•Taylor Swift is my idol because we both have something in common ~ Living our Wildest Dreams and Shaking It Off in Style•|"

Since Saturday, the sweet photo of the two together has received nearly 87,000 likes and thousands of messages of support. Swift, meanwhile, shared an adorable collage of her visit with her nearly 60 million Instagram followers with the caption, "Merry Christmas Baby @delaneyy.bugg ☃"

According to E!, Clements has been battling cancer for five years. Earlier this month, the teen's mother, Wendy Campbell, posted on Facebook that her daughter's disease had spread, writing, "You never know how strong you are until strong is the only choice you have. The last couple of days have been a whirlwind of emotions for us. And we are still trying to grasp the reality that we have reached an impasse."

Swift's surprise visit surely helped lift the family's spirits. On Saturday, Campbell posted a collage of photos from the occasion, with the caption, "So this just happened." In the photos, Clements and her loved ones look absolutely thrilled to be meeting and hanging out with Swift.

This isn't the first time the singer has surprised a fan. Last summer, she flew from Rhode Island to Massachusetts to surprise patients at Boston Children's Hospital, during which time she sang an Adele cover with one fan and then serenaded a six-year-old patient. Swift has always put her audiences first, and her most recent visit with Clements just acts as a reminder of how much she truly cares about her fans in need.
