Could There Be A 'Daddy's Home' Sequel?

Will Ferrell is giving us all a big-screen Christmas present with the release of his new movie Daddy's Home on Dec. 25. Buddy the Elf unfortunately won't be making any appearances this time, but Marky Mark will; the comedy stars Ferrell as a nerdy stepdad who has to fight for his stepchildren's affections when their real father, a badass biker played by Mark Wahlberg, comes back into town. Naturally, the plot is a comedy, following in the footsteps of previous works of these actors. So will Daddy's Home have a sequel like Anchorman or Ted? Or will it fall into no-sequel land like Elf?

It may be too soon to tell; there haven't yet been any rumblings of a sequel, but since Daddy's Home hasn't been released yet, it's unknown how audiences will receive it. However, the movie itself is a sequel of sorts in that it reprises the Ferrell-Wahlberg dynamic which was previously established with 2010's The Other Guys. If there was going to be a Daddy's Home 2, though, it would be awesome to see even more actors with whom Wahlberg and Ferrell have previously collaborated. Here are a few performers who would be a great inclusion in a sequel to Daddy's Home .

Reilly once played Ferrell's stepbrother, so wouldn't it make sense for him to come into the picture to provide support for Ferrell in his new position of stepfather?

Regardless of whether MacFarlane was to be featured in person or in bear form as Ted, it would be hilarious to see him interact on-screen with Ferrell and Wahlberg.

This would actually be a repeat for both Daddy's Home stars; Ferrell has worked with Carrell on both Anchorman movies in addition to other projects, while Wahlberg worked with him on Date Night.

Between all of their films, the two actors have had on-screen appearances with a healthy percentage of former and current SNL cast members — any one (or more) of whom would be amazing to see in a movie with Ferrell and Wahlberg. Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Kristen Wiig, Mike Myers... the list goes on and on.

So although Daddy's Home could kind of be considered a sequel to Ferrell and Wahlberg's prior work together, it's totally unsure as of now whether or not the film will have a proper sequel of its own. However, one thing is for sure: a Daddy's Home 2 would have serious potential for some hilarious co-star roles.
