Kate Middleton Knows How To Slay Christmas Style

by Julia Musto

Everyone's favorite royal (sorry, Harry) Kate Middleton's 2015 Christmas look sleighed this year. According to Glamour, yesterday the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William attended the Christmas church service at the Sandringham estate. She wore a forest green coat with matching accessories, including a crocodile belt.

Additionally, Middleton styled an asymmetrical cloche and paired the look with drop diamond earrings for a more sparkly holiday look. According to Glamour, Middleton's diamond and pearl brooch that accompanied the earrings was designed with motifs from the Middleton family crest. But, what I thought stunned was her in-style black suede boots which are très Gigi Hadid and totally not typical for a Duchess!

Middleton combined old British classics with new style trends for a look that was both stylish and professional; being a royal is a full-time occupation! This look is in line with a recent personal style overhaul where Middleton has stepped out of normal royal territories and opted for more adventurous looks. Glamour even went as far as to say that her new found fashion "makes the posh look relatable to non-royals." The only person I could think of comparing Winter 2015 Kate Middleton to might be the style of First Lady Michelle Obama, whose fashion is also experimental but always looks timeless. However, Duchess Kate has always been stylish for Christmas. Let's look back!

1. Royal in Red

Your girl looks radiant in a happy holiday Christmas red. This one was all over the news for weeks.

2. Pretty in Plaid

Plaid works as preppy and punk; this may be a sign of the rebellion before this end of the year like the Batman signal or the two fingers up in The Hunger Games.

See? Doesn't she look a little darker and grungey in comparison to previous Kate fashion? When I see this, I'm thinking Vivienne Westwood.

4. Merry in Maroon

We all know Middleton rocks solids, so when she stepped out in classic merry maroon we were not surprised.

5. Babe in Black and White

The Duchess fancied it up in a classic black and white with geometric neckline detailing.

6. Terrific in Tweed

Who said that Brit tweed wasn't fashionable? Double-breasted army-style tweed looks boss on Middleton.

Darker eye makeup? Knee-high boots? Who are you and what have you done with our Duchess Kate?
