Drake's BFF Triumphs Over Him At The PCAs

Looking back on 2015, it was a huge year for Drake. The rapper not only scored multiple Grammy nominations, but he released one of the most popular music videos of the entire year. It was impossible to avoid "Hotline Bling" memes and I still can't get the song out of my head. At the 2016 People's Choice Awards, Drake was nominated in two categories: Favorite Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Album. Unfortunately, Drake didn't take the trophy for either category. Nicki Minaj was awarded Favorite Hip-Hop Artist, while Meghan Trainor won Favorite Album.

As much as I love Drake, the competition for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist was pretty tough and there's no denying Minaj's talent. Plus, it's kind of awesome that the only lady nominated in the category took home the award! Besides these two, the other nominees were Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, and Wiz Khalifa. Drake will be competing against Lamar, Minaj, and Big Sean again in February at this year's Grammys. (Although, he's up for several awards with Minaj at that show for their collaborations on "Only" and "Truffle Butter." Maybe they'll get to share the honor next time?)

Here's hoping Drake receives the recognition he deserves in February. In the meantime, here's a pretty good guess at how he'll be reacting to his PCAs loss:

Yup, busting out those "Hotline Bling" dance moves is the perfect way to cure any award show blues.
