'Empire' Stars Looked Fierce At The Golden Globes

by Eliza Florendo

If Empire teaches us anything, it's that family is everything — oh, and that a killer outfit is absolutely necessary in every situation. Of course, the cast of Empire at the 2016 Golden Globes looked just as fabulous and fierce as they do on the show. They basically took our expectations and delivered. Ten fold.

There's a reason there's articles upon articles and GIFs upon GIFs of Cookie Lyon's closet. Because anyone would be envious of it. Excuse me as I die of envy from her lavish furs, animal print bags, Louboutins, and matching Moschino jacket and skirt. And that's just the beginning of it. The show's wardrobe has even changed how fashion is handled on television.

Cookie isn't the only one, either. Remember Hakeem's Alexander Wang jacket, or Anika's vintage Yves Saint Laurent coat? Exactly. Naturally, when the stars of the cast show up on the red carpet, I expect them to deliver. And of course, this year, they delivered.

Taraji looked like chic perfection in a simple, yet elegant white strapless gown with a long train. One word: Flawless. Henson topped her look with a small, statement bag, and her hair in a deep side part. This is what we call effortless beauty. Next to her was co-star Jussie Smollett, looking dapper in a black tux.

Terrence Howard showed up handsome as ever in a black tuxedo, and of course, killer aviators. The Lyons have surely arrived, and they've made it known.

And of course, Bryshere Y. Gray looked so smooth in fitted trousers, an oversized, double-breasted jacket, and the shiniest smoking slippers we ever did see.

Win or not, they all already look like winners on the fashion front in my book.
