'Fear The Walking Dead' Is Coming Back Soon

by Jennifer Still

If you've been a fan of The Walking Dead from the beginning, then chances are that the highly successful spinoff/prequel series, Fear The Walking Dead, was your cup of tea, too. It's certainly mine. It's not that I necessarily think a zombie apocalypse is imminent or at all realistic, but I do love exploring the extreme possibilities, and both The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead have done just that in the most nail-biting, anxiety-inducing, incredibly watchable way. This is particularly the case in Fear The Walking Dead, when this whole zombie takeover is only just beginning and the stakes feel so much higher (and scarier). Thankfully, we won't have to wait too much longer to get back to the action, either — the Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 premiere date has been revealed, and it'll be back on our TV screens on April 10. Ugh, can it be time already?

Clearly I'm not the only person who will be excited by this. After all, while many spinoff series crash and burn pretty much off the bat, Fear The Walking Dead was a hit from the very first episode, eventually having the highest rated first season in cable TV history, with over 11 million viewers turning in every week, on average. Pretty impressive, I think you'll agree. But it's been tough these past few months, waiting to hear when we'd get new episodes, because the first season was just so addictive. Thankfully, the April 10 premiere date was announced at AMC's panel at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena on Friday, so we've been put out of our misery... at least slightly.

April is still a few months away, but it's already shaping up to be quite an exciting month, since another fan favorite series is also rumored to be coming back to TV then, as well. Of course I'm referring to Game of Thrones Season 6, which is going to be way too exciting. Game of Thrones and Fear The Walking Dead on Sunday nights? Uh, basically, never ask me to do anything on a Sunday night come April. And while their time slots could potentially clash, given that Fear The Walking Dead airs at 9 p.m. and Game of Thrones has typically held the same hour on HBO, something tells me we can all find a way to work it out.

I can't wait to see what Fear The Walking Dead Season 2 has in store for us. We've got 15 episodes to look forward to, with the first seven starting in April and then the last eight not coming on until the fall. Still, that's twice as many episodes as we got for the first season, so I'll take it. Hurry up, April!
