Here's What The Downton Abbey Cast Wore At The GGs

Tonight on the 2016 Golden Globes red carpet, the stars are truly shining in all of their incredible fashionable glory. While many of the nominees and television cast members stun, the Downton Abbey cast at the 2016 Golden Globes are absolutely gorgeous. We got the first glimpse of the entire cast tonight when Joanne Froggatt stepped onto the red carpet.

Seeing many of the cast in gorgeous fashion is really not that unusual. While the super successful — and soon to be finalized — series is set in the early 1900s, the fashion is still series on point. While many series regulars — like Froggatt — are in the same or very simple ensemble in every episode, others like Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, and Elizabeth McGovern wear beautiful vintage frocks on screen.

While some could dismiss the Edwardian dress as antique, many have found inspiration in the sequined, column silhouette frocks, docked bobs, and drapey jewels. While the looks tonight on the red carpet aren't all reminiscent of the actors' on-screen personas, the fashion is an expression of the actors themselves, and as this will be the cast's last year walking the red carpet as an ensemble, seeing them celebrating the long lasting success of Downton Abbey as individuals was a sweet little fashionable farewell.

We knew good, incredibly stylish Downton fashion was coming our way when the first cast member arrived.

Froggatt's sleek, elegant steel blue gown is a stunner on the red carpet. The gown is an ideal blend of classy simplicity and subtly sexiness.

Plus, Froggatt's makeup game is totally on point. Her grey, smoky eye paired perfectly with her steel dress, and the nude lip is a perfect choice for such a strong eye.
