J. Law's 2016 Golden Globes Jewelry Is So Good

by Amanda Richards

When it came to dressing for the 2016 Golden Globes, Jennifer Lawrence stuck to one of her favorite red carpet designers, Dior, and took our breath away. However, Lawrence gave us a bit of a surprise by adding an incredible diamond choker to her ensemble, and the resulting red carpet aesthetic might just be better than any of her looks in the past.

The diamond choker comes from designer Chopard, a Swiss-based luxury jewelry and accessory designer and frequently spotted on the necks and ears of Hollywood's elite when they hit the red carpet. This isn't the first time that Lawrence has worn Chopard to make a statement. At the 2013 Oscars, the star's backless gown was literally dripping in Chopard — as InStyle reports, it was a 74-carat strand of 150 diamonds that she opted to wear backwards for the ultimate dramatic effect.

The incredible choker/collar that Lawrence wore tonight served as the perfect contrast to her striking, bright red gown with cutouts. Though she's clearly unafraid to experiment with a little sparkle, this particular look brought a bringing an aesthetic that we haven't really seen from the star at past Golden Globes appearances. At last year's awards, Lawrence wore a simple white Dior gown with bare shoulders and drop earrings. This year's looks is sort of the exact opposite of that one, and frankly, I'm not mad at it.

It's hard to tell exactly how many diamonds comprise the choker, but it's probably more than any of us will ever have on our bodies in one lifetime. Sometimes, it's good to be America's sweetheart.
