The 8 Best Drugstore Makeup Removers To Shop ASAP

by Jessica Willingham

We've all been there. You get home from a long night out and instead of taking off your makeup (like you're supposed to) you opt to fall into bed with a full face because you ran out of remover and didn't feel like spending your money on some. Well, no more excuses. Here are the best drugstore makeup removers that'll get the job done and save you some major cash.

I want a lot of things out of a makeup remover. It needs to be gentle enough that is doesn't irritate my skin, but strong enough to get off seven layers of product and waterproof mascara. I prefer something that I can apply quickly, so wipes and formulations that can be used with a cotton pad are my favorite. I also want something that doesn't leave my face dried out, or worse, totally slimy. It's true: Dinding a perfect makeup remover is hard. It's also hard to find an affordable makeup remover that you have easy access to without breaking the bank.

When searching for removers, it's important to look at ingredients (especially at the drugstore). According to Huffington Post, you want to stay away from formaldehyde-releasing chemicals used as preservatives, like the kind in your standard makeup wipe. These contain 2-Bromo-2-Nitropropane-1,3-Diol, a chemical that releases very low levels of formaldehyde. Eek!

Luckily, there are plenty of incredibly-made, safer makeup removers available at your local pharmacies and drugstores. Here are eight to shop right now:
