Little Girl's Toy Bunny Has A Big Adventure

by Lara Rutherford-Morrison

When a little girl left her stuffed bunny behind at the Adare Manor Hotel in Adare, Ireland, the hotel staff decided to take the toy on an adventure. As documented in a series of adorable Facebook photos, the hotel treated the lost bunny to luxury service that included a special hotel robe, relaxing outdoors, high tea, and even a trip to the spa. (If you’re finding yourself feeling suddenly envious of a stuffed rabbit, believe me — I’m right there with you.)

The adventure began when hotel staff posted a photo of a toy rabbit on the hotel’s Facebook page with the caption, “I lost my owner at breakfast in Adare Manor.” A hotel spokesperson told BuzzFeed News that the post got more attention than the hotel's usual posts, so the staff decided to run with the idea. The spokesperson said, “We decided to keep it going. We thought Facebook was a great way to get the word out there.”

Subsequent images show the little lost bunny hanging out in a plush hotel room, chatting with the concierge, and receiving a personal tour. The bunny’s journey proved popular among the Adare Manor Hotel’s followers, and — best of all — the posts eventually led to the bunny’s three-year-old owner, Kate.

Eventually the hotel found the bunny's young owner, Kate. Her family posted a message to the hotel on Facebook, writing,

Hello to all the lovely people in Adare Manor Hotel. My name is Kate Hogan. Thank you for taking such good care of my special Jellycat. He was my first ever teddy a whole three and a half years ago. I was so lonely going to sleep last night, but I now know he had the best time. I’m so excited to have Jellycat back in my arms. Thank you again Adare Manor. Give him a hug tonight from Kate X”

You might think that, after getting his taste of the high life, Jellycat the Bunny might never want to leave the Adare Manor Hotel. But just look at his adorable owner's smiling face:

Who could possibly resist that?
