The Oscars Guest List Will Be Star-Studded

What's almost as fun as predicting which movies will get 2016 Oscars nominations? That would be debating what the nominations mean for who will attend the 2016 Oscars. The event is the who's who of Hollywood after all. And, while I'm always holding out that Tom Hiddleston will show up (to the Oscars, to my bedroom, whatever), I've concocted a much more practical Oscars guest list

based on the films that scored nods on Thursday morning.

First of all, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say everyone who was nominated is probably going to be there. I mean, this isn't the People's Choice Awards. (I love that ceremony, but it's not like it's drawing a huge selection of celebs.) The Academy Awards are an event everyone is dying to get an invite to. Everyone nominee's friends and families and next door neighbors and long lost elementary school lab partners want to attend, as do other stars who may not be nominated but want to be there for the show (and the after-parties). So, based on the films that were nominated for this year's ceremony, I'm going to guess that these guests might be spotted in the Dolby Theatre come Feb. 28.

Amy Schumer

Although her film, Trainwreck, didn't score a nod, she is BFFs with Jennifer Lawrence, nominated for Best Actress. J. Law is single right now and after the fun the two ladies had at the Golden Globes I wouldn't be surprised if Lawrence brought Schumer along as her date.

The breakout actors of Star Wars: The Force Awakens didn't get any nominations, but the movie did get some editing and sound nods. Plus, they're totally hot right now amongst, um, everyone (especially Isaac), so I wouldn't be surprised if they got invited.

He's not nominated for anything either, but he's Hollywood and fans' darling right now and he starred in Ex Machina and Star Wars, both which got some technical nods. The Academy can't miss out on having his face on the red carpet.

Michael B. Jordan

His co-star Sylvester Stallone got a nomination for Creed, but Jordan was skipped over. But, maybe the Academy will let him present, or something, in a small attempt to rectify the snub.

Ryan Gosling

Although he didn't get a direct nomination, Gosling's film The Big Short was recognized so expect to see this handsome man in a gorgeous tux in February. I literally can't wait.

Bradley Cooper

Although not nominated for anything, he is one of J. Law's BFFs and starred alongside her in Joy. If Lawrence doesn't bring Schumer as her date, I'm putting money down that she'll bring Cooper.

Angelina Jolie

She skipped the Golden Globes, but there's no way she's going to miss the Oscars, especially considering Brad Pitt's The Big Short was nominated.

Meryl Streep

It's not awards season without Streep, nominations or not.

George Clooney

Same deal as Streep.

Ben Affleck

His personal life may be splashed across the tabloids, but he's not going to miss his bro Matt Damon potentially score a win.

Idris Elba

His film Beasts Of No Nation was snubbed by the Academy, so the very least they can do it invite him to the show.

The Weeknd

Perhaps he'll perform his nominated song "Earned It" from Fifty Shades of Grey. I'm fine with that just as long as Christian Grey doesn't show up.

Hey, you never know. Maybe this is where they'll finally let us see Saint West for the first time.
