'Arrow' Will Reveal Felicity's Fate

Arrow has left fans with some jaw-dropping cliffhangers throughout the years (you know, like the time Oliver appeared to straight up DIE), however, Season 4's fall finale managed to take our stress levels to new heights when Felicity was shot and potentially killed by Damian Darhk's henchmen. And thanks to this long and excruciating winter hiatus, we've had weeks and weeks to debate what actually happened to Felicity on Arrow . Is she really the one who ends up in that flash forward grave or do the writers have another fate in store for our beloved tech genius? WARNING: Season 4 spoilers ahead. Proceed at your own risk!

There's an extended Australian promo circulating throughout the internet that provides further insight into Felicity's severe injuries. And it looks as though she most likely won't be walking away from this incident unscathed. "The damage to her spinal cord is permanent," Mama Smoak is shown saying to Oliver in the hospital. "She’s never going to walk again." Now, obviously, the good news that can be taken away from this is the fact that Felicity is alive. However, the bad news is , of course, that she's now permanently paralyzed. But given the massive amount of injuries we've seen these characters recover from, I have a sneaking suspicion she won't be wheelchair-bound forever.

Naturally, this newfound footage is making some fans speculate as to whether or not this means Felicity will become the DC Comics character Oracle, who was also temporarily paralyzed and known for her advanced computer hacking skills. But don't get too excited, my friends, because it seems as though that's not where Miss Smoak's journey is headed. Executive producer Wendy Mericle recently weighed in on the matter during an interview with TVLine and made it clear that no such transformation would be occurring.

"It’s off the table. That’s something we definitely talked about [doing] with her in the beginning and yeah, people have to tune in to see what happens and what happened. But yeah, it will not be Oracle, sadly."

But then again, maybe this just means they won't be referring to Felicity as Oracle, but will still have her take on many of her characteristics. Right now it's too unsure to say, but at the very least we now know for sure that Felicity will be back on our television screens for the foreseeable future. She may have taken a lot of bullets from Darhk's henchmen, but we really should've known by now that it would take a lot more than that to bring this badass lady down.
