The One Beauty Product Ellie Goulding Swears By

by Jessica Thomas

When you're a superstar like Ellie Goulding, you're pretty much constantly applying and removing makeup. Between photoshoots, shows and her fave workouts, a lot of time is spent on her makeup and skincare routine. While things could get complicated, there's one beauty product Ellie Goulding swears by, and once you try it, you'll be hooked as well.

So what's the product she can't live without? Toner! According to an interview she did with The New York Times , where she shared her beauty routine, Goulding sang the praises of her can't-live-without product. "I usually shower in the morning, and then I use a toner. I tend to get quite glowy skin, and this toner by Pixi, which is vegan and animal friendly and is a brand I love, helps with that."

You probably already know about the little powerhouse that is toner, but if your skincare routine is more "SPF and go" than "moisturizer, serum, toner and repeat," you might be missing out on the awesome benefits that toner can bring. The right one will help your skin stay refreshed and calm and will cut down on grease. Using one will instantly make your face feel refreshed, and a good one will do that without making your skin feel tight and dry.

Picking the right toner depends on your skin type. Choose a gentle one for sensitive skin and a stronger one if you're prone to grease. Goulding's favorite, Pixi Glow Tonic, is a cult favorite in the UK that recently started being sold in the US (at Target, naturally).

Pixi Glow Tonic, $15, Target

As mentioned above, Goulding swears by this toner for perfect skin, but here are four more to consider that'll get the job done well, too.

Thayers Alcohol-Free Witch Hazel Toner, $7.99, Target

Witch hazel is a classic toner, and this cheap drugstore staple is alcohol-free, so it won't dry out your skin.

Murad Hydrating Toner, $30, Murad

If your skin tends to be on the dry side, this hydrating toner from Murad is perfect for your skin.

Aveda Botanical Kinetics Skin Firming/Toner Agent, $23, Aveda

Aveda addicts who love the herbal scent of the beauty brand's products will fall for this all-natural toner.

Olay Oil Minimizing Clean Toner, $4.99, Target

If your skin tends to be on the oilier side, you'll want a toner like this one from Olay to help reduce that.

Considering how amazing Goulding's skin is, I totally trust her addiction to this pore-minimizing product. I know I'll be picking up a bottle ASAP.
