Phaedra's Husband Is In Trouble

by Mallory Schlossberg

Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks' husband, Apollo Nida, was arrested for bank fraud and identity theft. That's something to get dramatic about, yeah? The crazy, but hilarious — and most definitely quotable — housewife now has some new emotional drama to pull from, but not the good kind.

Let's go straight to the hometown source to find out what went down. According to Access Atlanta.com, Nida created fake debt collection companies, and allegedly stole money alongside Gayla St. Julien, who described herself has Nida's "right-hand bitch" (which is the only way to describe yourself when you're allegedly compliant in breaking the law, really). St. Julien had been arrested back in September, so, long story short: This shit was going down while Parks was filming RHOA. Perhaps being the husband of a real housewife is just not fulfilling enough, ya know?

This wasn't Nida's first brush with the law. In fact, he had been in jail from 2004 to 2009, charged with crimes related to auto fraud. Essentially, this guy might just be a lifetime criminal, and is making a lot of us wonder why Parks would have gotten into this marriage from the start.

Nida was questioned by the U.S. Marshall Thursday, and, shortly after, appealed to the District Attorney. He was released on pretrial bail, but his mugshot ain't no Bieber.

Sadly — and ironically — enough, Parks had just posted a Bravo Blog (like, as this was happening), stating that 2013 was "awesome" and that she feels confident that "2014 will be even more spectacular." In this bizarre twist to the story, she went on to write:

As always, my life has been moving at meteorite speed. Between my family, work, and social commitments, the little free time I have is devoted to some much needed sleep. Every New Year, many of us reflect and resolve to do better and more than the prior year. In 2014, I aspire to be a better mother, wife, friend, and servant to my community.

Awwww, Phaedra! You deserve better than this, woman!
