'Blurred Lines' is back and worse than ever

"Blurred Lines" is back, and it's even creepier than before. With the Grammys tonight, People magazine has decided that we need to keep paying attention to Robin Thicke's rape-y song and they've designed a specialty cocktail based on it. "The Blurred Lines" contains vodka, coffee liqueur, hazelnut liqueur, ice, and soda water. But the only thing I can think of a "Blurred Lines" drink containing is a date rape drug.

Thicke has caught a lot of flack for his song which contains questionable lyrics like, "I know you want it," and "The way you grab me, must wanna get nasty" while the video features topless women posing in various degrading ways. Thicke once attempted to defend himself and the video saying, "People say, 'Hey, do you think this is degrading to women?' I’m like, 'Of course it is. What a pleasure it is to degrade a woman. I’ve never gotten to do that before.'" Alrighty then.

Both Thicke and his song are super yikes-worthy and somehow making an alcoholic beverage dedicated to a man who wants to blur the lines and who goes around saying “even very good girls have a little bad side. You just have to know how to pull it out of them" just seems like a not-so good idea. If People really wanted to honor one of the Record of the Year nominees with a drink, they had so many other less sketchy options like the ones I've listed below:

The Radioactive Dragon (Inspired by Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive")

1 oz chartreuse1 oz rum

Mix together. Light on fire. Leave flame burning for about 20 seconds before drinking.

Deep Royals Blue (Inspired Lorde's "Royals")

3 oz Grey Goose vodka1 oz Blue Curacao liqueur2 oz Cristal Champagne

We're Up All Night Tequila Key (Inspired by Daft Punk's "Get Lucky")

This drink looks like the sunrise you're sure to see after staying up into the early hours of the morning.

2 oz tequila4 oz orange juice2 dashes grenadine syrup

Pour tequila in a glass with ice, and top with orange juice. Stir. Add grenadine by tilting glass and pouring grenadine down side by flipping the bottle vertically very quickly. The grenadine should go straight to the bottom and then rise up slowly through the drink.

Heavenly Paradise (Inspired by Bruno Mars' "Locked out of Heaven")

Nothing will get you into heaven faster than this sex on the beach cocktail made with absinthe instead of vodka:

1 1/2 oz absinthe1/2 oz peach schnapps2 oz cranberry juice2 oz orange juice

Enjoy, and happy Grammys!
