Tyga Would "For Sure" Marry Kylie

by Jennifer Still

I'll admit it — I love a good celebrity romance. Whether or not I'm a fan of the couple in question, I enjoy all the gossip about the state of their relationship and follow it pretty closely, even if I don't particularly care about the stars involved. It's a sickness, I know. This is especially the case when it comes to Kylie Jenner and Tyga, who have been dating now for what seems like ages, but was only confirmed this past summer. Despite the occasional breakup rumors and reports of trouble in paradise, things seem to be going well for the pair — so well, in fact, that Tyga says he would marry Jenner "for sure." Yikes!

The topic came up during an appearance on Khloé Kardashian's new talk show, Kocktails with Khloé, when the host's best friend Malika Haqq asked him about the couple's future. After all, they seem to really like each other, so he must have thought about what was going to happen if they stay together, right? Well, he has. Turns out, Tyga said that he would marry Jenner during a ridiculous game of "F*ck, Marry, Kill", and he reiterated those intentions after the game concluded, saying that he would "for sure" walk down the aisle with Jenner. I can only say one thing to that: please don't.

I would say that any couple, of any age, shouldn't be exchanging vows when they've only been together for such a short time. There's still so much you don't know about each other and so many other steps to take in your relationship before getting to that one. What's the rush? There's nothing wrong with being married (I'm married myself), but it's not the be all, end all, and it won't solidify your relationship if that solid foundation isn't there to begin with. This is doubly the case for Tyga and Jenner, considering Jenner is only 18. No matter how much you think you know yourself and what you want for your life at 18, you just don't — I speak from experience. Making decisions like getting married is just not something that should enter the picture.

Of course, maybe Tyga knows this and doesn't actually have any plans to pop the question anytime soon. You have to consider the fact that he was asked this question on the spot, on national TV, and wouldn't very well turn around when asked if he would marry his girlfriend and say, "Nah, not really feeling that." What else was he going to say but yes? Not only did he have millions of viewers who would see his response, but he was sitting across from his girlfriend's sister. It doesn't take rocket science to realize that maybe Tyga's comments weren't to be taken all that seriously.

Maybe I'm being a pessimist. Maybe the relationship between Tyga and Jenner really is true love and is going to go the distance. Maybe they'll get married and have a multi-million dollar wedding that's broadcast on E! and then they'll live in their Calabasas mansion and have kids and do reality TV for the rest of their lives. Let's just hope there's a prenup involved before all that happens.
