Sophie Turner Takes The World's Best Selfie

There were plenty of well-deserved winners at Saturday night's SAG Awards, even beyond the trophies that were handed out. In my opinion, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is the SAG Awards' true hero, since she snagged the most coveted prize of all — a selfie with Ryan Gosling. Personally, I'd rather have that than a trophy any day. Turner shared the enviable snapshot on Instagram with the most perfect caption. The 19-year-old wrote,

Sorry boys. I'm off the market

Turner's facial expression in the photo is priceless. It sums up how anyone would react when in the presence of Mr. Gosling himself. Although he appears completely unaware the photo is being taken, it's a magical moment nevertheless. Sure, everybody knows Gosling is happily committed to Eva Mendes, the mother of his child, but that doesn't mean a girl can't dream!

Although the Game of Thrones cast didn't take home the SAG trophy for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, the show did win Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Team in a Television Series for the fourth year in a row. Impressive, huh? Of course the trophy is a nod to the HBO show, it's also a fitting title for Turner's selfie — that's a stealthy stunt in itself.

Thank you, Sophie, for this gem! And for proving that even the most poised of celebrities fangirl over RyGos. While on the red carpet before the show, Turner looked totally glam and put together. But when seated in the same vicinity as Gosling? Yeah, all chill was totally lost.

During an interview on Friday prior to the SAG Awards, Turner told Time that this season is major for her GOT character Sansa Stark. The actor said,

I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa. It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.

Although she was talking about Sansa, it's almost like Turner foreshadowed her epic Gosling selfie — in which she grabbed ahold of the perfect photo opportunity, ran with it, and the end result was "really good." OK, so that may be a bit of a stretch. But still, the picture is glorious and deserves to be framed above a fireplace.
