8 Fab Podcasts For Fashion And Beauty Lovers

by Teresa Newsome

Fashion and beauty are usually a treat for the eyes (and spirit), but there's also a great assortment of fashion ear candy out there in the form of must-listen podcasts for fashion and beauty lovers. Because as much as you'd love to scan Instagram while you're driving, or cooking, or working out, sometimes you just need to focus on the task at hand, lest you face plant on the treadmill or cut one of your nails off while making lunch. Ouch.

So what does a fashion and beauty podcast have to offer? I mean, no visuals? Well, there's actually a ton of inspo and education. You can listen to everything from how fashion superstars got to where they are, to tips for the perfect winged eyeliner, to tech savvy advice for making the most of your social media accounts.

And Android die-hards out there, podcasts aren't just for the Apple family. You can listen to them on just about any device. So no more crying into your non-iPillows (and smearing your iLliner) about how you're missing out. Here's a lineup of some fashionista podcast favorites to get you started.

You can thank (or curse) me later for your newest addiction.

1. College Fashionista's "Office Hours"

The makers of this podcast describe it as, "The only Office Hours you will actually want to attend." And they're right. This one's for the fashion/beauty/media career-driven. You get insider tips from real beauty professionals. Just launched, "Office Hours" will feature interviews with #GirlBosses like Joyce Chan (EIC of SELF), Hannah Bronfman, Kristie Dash from Allure, Marissa Smith from NYLON, Lainy Hedaya from Haute Inhabit, and Laurel Pantin from Sweet. It's like a class you can't wait to attend. And with no homework.

This one's from Glamour Magazine, so you know it's good. It's part fashion, part sociology, part documentary, and it's unlike anything else out there. The biggest names in fashion give you insight into their lives through the lens of fashion, and talk about what they wore during childbirth, weddings, and other pivotal moments in their lives.

Lisa Rowan (cool vintage store owner) and professional stylist Kaarin Vembar meet at the 4-way intersection of fashion, pop culture, funny, and business. They take on celebrity and fashion in a smart, fresh way. And they take listener questions, too, so you can be a part of the action.

4. Stuff You Should Know

This podcast is fascinating. If you're just as much nerd as you are fashion, you'll love this. With topics such as "How Perfume Works" and "How Gossip Works," this is like the audio version of those awesome Sesame Street shorts about how crayons or juice boxes are made. It also has a lot of really interesting non-fashion and beauty content. Because knowledge is power.
