When Is Jessica Alba x DL1961 Denim Available?

Her entrepreneurial spirit cannot be broken and she can add yet another title to her resume. This time, it's fashion designer, as Jessica Alba has teamed up denim brand DL1961 to create pieces for Fall 2016. Additionally, Alba is serving as the face of the brand's current Spring 2016 collection. That's one way to ease into the relationship! Is there anything she can't or doesn't do well? With her Honest Company valued at over a billion dollars and having recently launched the Honest Beauty division, Alba is absolutely killing it. But I know you have a critical question. When will Alba's first fashion collabo be available? Well, you've got time before you can pull on a pair of her jeans.

Alba, who is known to rock lots of denim in her off-duty, street style, is designing eight to 10 items for the Fall 2016 collection. Her DL1961 range will be in stores and shoppable online in August, according to Vogue. So there's a decent wait time of about six months before you can rock Alba-designed denim with all of your fall basics, like layers, blazers, oversized tees, leather jackets, scarves, and booties.

At least you can pull some spring and summer street style inspo from the Spring 2016 ad campaign, the pictures of which I've posted here and have sprinkled throughout.

While the Spring 2016 collection has a grunge vibe, and boasts lots of distressed elements, like rips, tears, and holes, Alba has quite a different aesthetic in mind with the pieces she is creating. Curvy girls are top of mind for her.

She told Vogue, "My inspiration for most things in life is always the '90s supermodels: Cindy, Naomi, Claudia. Those bodies! Lately, I've been getting back into bell-bottoms, but high-waisted and not too flared. The jeans that I'm designing are going to celebrate women's bodies and show off those curves."

The sometime actor and lifestyle guru also noted that the stretchy fabric will conform to your body without getting baggier during the day, as is the case with some denim. Amen to that. That's always one denim issue I deal with. I want my jeans to hug my butt 'til I take 'em off.

Of course Alba opted to partner with DL1961 since the company shares her environmentally friendly ethos. Vogue reports that this particular brand processes denim in a way that uses half the dye, water, and energy of traditional methods.

DL1961 is a premium denim brand, sold at higher end department stores like Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks. The jeans come in a stunning array of cuts and shape. Price-wise, the jeans start as low as $158 and go as high as $396, but the label's commitment to environmental protection justifies their pricier wares.

My take? I totally dig the Spring 2016 collection, which Alba pretty much slays in each of these campaign images. I have super high hopes for the Fall 2016, which will have her vision, eye, and design skills incorporated into a "can't lose" mix.
